This page lists what ConstrCalc stores in your browser, why, and how to remove it. The platform relies on browser storage more than most sites, because your project data is kept on your device rather than on our servers.
Calculator inputs, saved projects, stored reports and your interface theme are written to local storage on your own device. This is what allows an estimate to survive a page reload or a return visit the following day.
None of this is transmitted to us. There is no server-side copy, which is why the platform cannot recover your work if browser data is cleared. Export a JSON snapshot of anything commercially important.
Google Analytics cookies record aggregate usage: which pages are visited, approximate region, device category, referral source. IP anonymisation is enabled. These tell us that a guide is being read; they do not tell us who is reading it, and they never receive calculator values.
Google AdSense and its partners use cookies to serve advertising, including personalised advertising based on your prior visits to this and other sites. These are third-party cookies set by the advertising provider rather than by us.
You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' advertising cookies at aboutads.info/choices. Opting out makes advertising non-personalised; it does not remove it.
There are no account cookies, because there are no accounts. There are no payment cookies, because no payments are processed. There is no cross-site tracking identifier operated by us, and no fingerprinting.
Every browser provides controls for cookies and site data, usually under privacy or site settings. You can block third-party cookies while keeping local storage, which disables advertising personalisation while preserving your saved projects.
Clearing site data for this domain removes everything: saved projects, stored reports and preferences. That deletion is permanent and we cannot reverse it, since we never held a copy.
In a private window, local storage is discarded when the window closes. The calculator works normally during the session, but nothing persists afterwards. If you are pricing something you intend to return to, either use a normal window or export the project before closing.
Some assets load from content delivery networks: the icon font, web fonts, and the libraries that generate PDF, Excel and Word exports. Those providers may log the request as part of serving it. Document generation itself happens on your device, so your estimate is never uploaded during an export.

Most web applications keep your work on a server and use a cookie to identify your session. ConstrCalc inverts that: the work stays on your device and there is no session to identify. That choice protects commercial confidentiality — negotiated supplier rates and applied margins never reach us — but it changes what browser storage means here.
On a conventional platform, clearing cookies logs you out and your data is waiting when you return. Here, clearing site data is the deletion. There is no cloud copy to restore from, and no support request that can recover it. Understanding that distinction is the single most useful thing to take from this page.
Because nothing is synchronised through a server, a project saved on your office desktop will not appear on your phone or laptop. Moving work between devices is done by exporting a JSON snapshot and loading it on the other machine.
The same applies between browsers on one device: work saved in one browser is not visible in another, as each maintains its own separate storage.
Local storage written by the platform persists until you clear it. It has no expiry set by us, because expiring somebody's saved estimate without warning would be unhelpful.
Analytics and advertising cookies follow the retention periods set by Google, described in their own policies. We do not extend, shorten or override those periods.
Where your jurisdiction requires consent before non-essential cookies are set — including under the ePrivacy rules in the European Economic Area and the UK — that requirement applies to the analytics and advertising categories described above, and the opt-out mechanisms linked in this page are available to you regardless of location.
Essential local storage is used solely to make the calculator function as you would expect and to remember your interface preference. It carries no identifier and is not shared with any third party.
