How to Use:
Use hourly when your crew records time or overtime affects margin. Use daily when workers are paid a fixed day-rate or you subcontract per day. Both resolve to the same underlying formula.
It is a reference figure — your hourly rate across a standard shift — so you can compare a quoted day-rate against your own build-up. It is never applied to the total on top of the hourly cost.
It should. A burdened rate adds payroll taxes, insurance, statutory benefits, and often small tools. Pricing on the bare wage understates what the crew actually costs you.
Adjust the hours, not the rate. Estimate the crew-hours the task genuinely needs, then apply the rate. That keeps “how long” and “how much” separate and easier to defend.

Add them as separate items. They are one-off costs that do not scale with hire duration, so folding them into a daily rate distorts longer hires.
Usually yes. Hire is typically charged by calendar period rather than hours worked, so weather days and sequencing gaps still cost money. Price the hire period, not just the productive days.
